American Samoa is located in Oceania. It is a group of islands in the South Pacific Ocean, about half way between Hawaii and New Zealand.
The internet country code for American Samoa is the .as, and is a country code top level domain (cctld) that does not carry restrictions on registration. This means means that anyone, anywhere in the world may register a domain name using the .as extension.
ASNIC is the registry for the .as cctld, and they are located at http://www.nic.as. Please become familiar with the .as registration agreement.
The annual price to register a .as domain is $50 USD with the first 2 years payable in advance - total $100 USD. The billing contact will be sent an invoice for renewal approximately 23 months after initial registration. Renewals are $50 USD per year.
As of March 1st 2005, the .AS registry announced that Internationalized Domain Names (IDN) may be registered. A list of IDN characters that are supported can be found here.
